Traveling before Lille?

I was just wondering if anyone else was thinking about traveling before the program starts.

I was thinking of going to either Paris or London a week or so earlier. Was anyone else considering seeing a bit of Europe before?

Hello everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself since I may be seeing many of you quite often in the future. I'm Amber (my middle name is Yosé if you get confused between Ambers) and I am really looking forward to France and to meeting everyone that has applied for the program. I am also curiouse to know which level of French everyone is in? and also which electives everyone is interested in taking?
Have a nice day ladies

Other Amber!

To answer your first question. I have completed French 212 (Intermediate) at the U of A. Although, that was a year ago. I also took a course through Alliance Francaise d'Edmonton this past fall.

Since then, I think I've forgotten a ton of vocabulary and I'm in the process of reminding myself of some of the grammar. I hope to be in the advanced class at Lille, but we'll see where their standards are at. I signed up for elective 2 (History & Arts).

As far as meeting, shawna has kindly volunteered to look into getting us all together sometime sooner than the pre-departure session. We were thinking that there must be more of us who want to meet and talk about flights, school, plans and so on.

I booked my flight yesterday. I'll be in Paris by the morning of May 27. I do still want to see London (definitely), but I wanted to get to Paris and start my immersion in French language and culture early.

What are the rest of your plans?

Hello everyone.
I'm definitely getting super excited!!
Question... I plan to head to Paris around the 28th and come back the first week of July (similar to what Amber already sent out but maybe a little shorter because I have to get back to work). Where did y'all book your flights/find the best deal. I found a not to bad price from Air Canada... any help?
I too took FREN 212 just about a year ago and am really hoping to get into the advanced course. If its anything like the advanced FREN here I'm sure you won't have a problem.
I've found a hostel that I really like, can't remember the name off the top of my head.
But let me know what you guys like and maybe we can coordinate something.
Sorry I missed the get together -- Thursdays are my killer days. I look forward to finally meeting with you all soon.
xx

Hey everyone, so this message is in regards to The May 12th meetin that Amber M is trying to plan. I know that for myself, I won't be able to make it. I work all day on Saturdays from 10 in the morning until 9:30 in the evening. I qork mostly on weekends, and evenings because I am a waitress, and I think some other people might have a bit of a problem with a Saturday too. I just wanted to let you know that if you have that meeting I won't be able to make it, so if you still plan on having a get together on a Saturday let me know so that I can give Amber M. the "van from the airport" money some other time. Thanks!
Good luck to everyone with their exams!

As for the meeting... I am good for almost anything. I'm away skiing on the 7th and 8th but other than that I can make a couple hours work wherever is best!

Hey. I like the idea of a meeting before we all leave, but I'm not sure if I have to work that day or not. I'll let you know as soon as I find out! Good luck everyone with the rest of your exams!!
